You pass me on the street and sneer in my direction.
You call me "Whiteboy," "Cracker," "Honkey," "Whitey," "Caveman" and that's OK.

You say that whites commit a lot of violence against you, so why are the ghettos the most dangerous places to live?

Nothing is wrong with being proud of your own race - all people should be proud of their own race; and all people should have acceptance and respect for other people's race, culture & beliefs. Each and every race has something unique to offer to the world. It's time we all lived in peace and harmony; we've had enough of war.

Absolutely nothing. It seems in today's society that if you enjoy being whatever race you are than you are against all other races. Me personally I enjoy being a white man in my twenties(unemployed by the way). I met and got along with pretty much every race during my 6 years in the Navy and I don't think any of them would trade races. Every race and nationality and religion has their own traditions and beliefs that are unique to them and make them proud to be a part of that group. The only time to be ashamed of your beliefs is when you try to force them on another group.

Absolutely nothing is wrong with being proud of the strengths and accomplishments of people of your own race. The problem is when you put your race above others, that's called racism.

To put a proper perspective on your race, also investigate the weaknesses; race and culture are often mixed up in our minds, as well.

Nothing wrong with being proud, it's when people start thinking one race is better than another and should be treated differently.

Just like other said, nothing, although it is better be proud of all of the races that know how to work, live, and love each other than just your own.

Personally though I wish that person didn't bring up that white/racsim bit. I don't think it had anything to do with this question at all, sounds more like a uneccesary rant.

The first temptation is to say that there is nothing wrong with it, but if you think more closely, you will realize that you will not want to be in that position as pride and shame are two sides of the race coin.

If you are Anglo-German, you can lump yourself in with great artists and scientists, but you have to include Hitler and his cronies. Black people can be proud of MLK and many others but have to include Idi Amin and Suge Knight.

So Mother Theresa might be in your genes, but so is genocide.
This is a very slippery slope to be caught on.

Thanks for asking a really provocative question.

There is nothing wrong with being proud of your own race. That however, doesn't mean other races are beneath you. You are proud of yours, just like others are proud of theirs. So don't take offense when other races don't share your 'proud-ness'...

Nothing. I'm proud of my race. My mothers family came from England and Dad was a bit Irish. What are you?

Silly girl. Why be proud of the shade of pigment you have? You should be proud to be a human being an individual among others of the human race and to be alive.
