Blacking out is not really good. It's not hilarious that you made a total rear end out of yourself.

Contrary to what the reformed drinker said, blacking out does not mean you are an Alcoholic. Only you can determine if you are an alcoholic. If so, do not render yourself "powerless" and take AA with a grain of salt.

Know your limit. Don't drink mixed drinks with diet pop. With no sugar in the pop, the alcohol hits your stomach pretty hard. Drink a glass of water in between alcoholic drinks. Even if you chug it to get to the next drink (assuming you are young and a partier) it will take up space in your stomach and dilute the alcohol so that you don't get as drunk, as fast.

Find a happy comfortable limit. Maybe 4 drinks really makes you feel great. Stay there. Tell whoever is serving never to give you more than 4 that night. Tell him that if you leave with 4 or less drinks in you, you'll tip him an extra $15.

But you can remember other things that are important to you. Insignificant events in life don't really get put into the deep memory of our brains. So if you forget important things you may have a problem. Or maybe not. I forgot.

If you were drinking and you blacked out; you are an alcoholic. That is not really hilarious. Please ask for help. You don't have to live that way. Email me if you would like to talk about it.

What made you black out? That has never happened to me or anyone I know unless one of us were drunk or stoned.
