I feel the need to clarify a few things in response to some of the answers I have received to my question about my ancestry. First of all "First Nations " is a term for Indian like in Native American Indian the only difference is I am Canadian. As for being grateful, I was always told as a child I should be grateful that someone wanted me. I was abused physicaly, emotionaly, mentaly, and sexualy all of my childhood years. I had a baby between grade 6 and 7,I was 12 years old and the father was my adopted parents son. I was told to forget about it and never talk about it. I ended up drinking and using drugs at age 13 for 35 years.I am now clean and sober for 8 years now I felt the need to write this because there is so much more to ones life then meets the eye. So as for being grateful that these people adopted me it is hard to be grateful for being abused although I have to say I did make peace with them.
