When this type of thing happens, it's often due to processes running that get loaded with Windows starting in "normal" mode. Try this: Reboot the computer in "Safe Mode" by tapping the F8 key as the pc is booting. Once in Safe Mode, then start up your defrag process. In all liklihood that'll let defrag run to completion. I would agree with Countessa. Attempt to restart your computer and try defragmenting it again under disk cleanup.

You may have too many files in your computer that it cannot defragment. defragment need 15% of free space.
I'm not too sure what is ur problem as the desription is too brief.
