I have removed them with the Oxy Clean pre treater, then soaking them in Oxyclean powder. You can also try regular Crest Toothpaste (the blue paste, not the whitening kind) I have had great success with grass stains with Crest, and minimal with baby stains. Since they may still have biological matter in the stain, you can try color safe bleach to get out the oils and proteins. Soak, soak soak, treat and soak some more. Baby stains are tough.

For older stains I cannot help, I have never been 100% successful. It really depends on how long the stain has been there, how many previous washes it had, and what was in the spit-up (carrots, peas, formula)
New stains or fresh stains I can help with. Use baby wipes. clean up the spot with a baby wipe and then squeeze the liquid out of the wipe onto the spot. Don't worry if your are not able to wash it immediately, it will be fine if the if left to dry for a few days.

To be honest- i did two things. I would try and get it out using lemon juice or I would spray treat it- either with oxy clean or by taking soap and rubbing it into the fabric fairly quickly. If it was white (the outfit) i just threw it in the wash with bleach.

Older stains are harder because they are usually set in pretty tough- but i suppose if you use Oxy clean and take a toothbrush to it, you can break down some of the stain and then get it so it can just be washed out. If it is too bad- i say just replace the article of clothing- sometimes the fight isnt worth it!

good luck!

I do! I use a mix of Mean Green cleaner and Clorox bleach. some of the bad stains I also added the GOOP that mechanics use on their hands. I bought lots of nice and new 2nd hand clothes for my grandkids that someone would get rid of because the baby had spit up on them! I bought a beautiful cradle set made of white eyelet for $5. and I got the bumper pad, sheet, pillow and case, and comfortor. They had one stain up near the top of the comfortor and i easily got it out! I used it in my antique dark wooden cradle and it was beautiful. The one of us 4 siblings with a new grandkid gets to use the cradle so it gets passed around.I had 6 grandkids in under 3 yrs so I bought them daily stuff 2nd hand. They outgrow it fast anyway! They can also get a stain on it the first time they wear it so why spend lots when you can get nice clothes mush cheaper? If there is a stain on a white collars on a colored dress you can use a Q-tip with bleach and the mean green mixed on it and rub it and then immediately rinse it out! I always sew a stitch or two under the baby collars to hold them down so they will not get in the baby's way or in their mouth. You can also hang them in the direct sun and it will bleach some stains out of 100% cotton. You can use Bluing to brighten up whites after you get the stains out. Also use it on white dress shirts and white towels to keep them nice and bright instead of yellowing with age. Bluing is found in the washing section of stores. It is an old thing but still works great! I used it on my son's karate uniform and it was the whitest one at class. Best wishes with the baby!

Spray'n'Wash Stain Stic, usually worked. Before throwing it in the hamper, I would rub it on the stain. Come laundry day, the stain would almost always wash out. Once I found it I tried it on older stains, after 1-3 applications/washes the stain would be gone. I got in a hurry with one (on white fabric) and used bleach, of course that worked. I tried all kinds of formulas for my baby's fussy stomach and it worked on all of them.
