Are you coming here for studying, working, living with a family member?

Culturally, London is a beautiful city worth visiting. Living in a different country is always a good experience that will make you see things from a different perspective, you will meet new people, learn a different language, different culture, different ways of doing things (not necessarily better or worse) just different.

Money wise. London is a very expensive city, even by UK standards. Clothes, shoes and electronics are as expensive as in Mexico (I am also Mexican). Food is more expensive here and there is not a big selection of fruits and veggies compared to Mexico. However there is enough variety to eat balanced and healthy.

Weather wise. Bring a good rain and wind proof jacket. Don’t bring bulky sweaters like the ones from Chiconcuac, they are useless. The ideal thing is to dress like an onion, with many layers. A light shirt for when you are inside the house, a nice sweater of fleece and a rain jacket for outside. In winter a coat is also necessary, and of course gloves and something to cover your head.

Dangers. As any big city there are always good “safe” areas and “bad” areas. You just need to exercise common sense. I don’t know from which city in Mexico you come from. If it is from a small city or town, you may need to put a bit more effort in adapting yourself to a big city.

I will suggest buying the Lonely planet for London or Britain.

Ahh, and don’t forget when you arrive to the UK let the Mexican embassy know that you are here, just in case of an emergency (es bueno que te registres con ellos, checa la pagina www.embamex.co.uk/).

Espero que esto te sirva, mucha suerte!

If you have something to offer London, i.e. a talent, a willingness to work hard, an ambition to get somewhere in life, then, yes, London could be a very good place to live. But to come and just have fun or waste time, it will be expensive and unrewarding.
So it depends entirely on what you have to offer London, not what London may offer you.

Personally, I hate London - it has changed so much and I feel very intimidated and scared when I go there now (I used to live and work there.) Its not a comfortable place to be unless you are well off and can get taxis everywhere and live in a 'good' part of the town.

I would recommend that you live outside London and visit with friends - if you must!

London's a really exciting place to be, but it's ultra-expensive in addition to all the other downsides that go along with living in a big city. Add to that the effects of moving to a different country, and only you can decide whether or not it's worth it to you to move there.
It could be very good, but it could not be - are you willing to take that gamble?

I think you would find it very expensive in London compared to Mexico. There are already many many immigrants from all over the world in England, many of whom are unemployed or exploited. It would be difficult for you to get work, except very low paid work. Even if you are qualified to do a well paid job, you would need to speak and write better English than you do. You would be happier in Mexico with your family and friends.

Yes but you need to be careful. Do not go outside with a rucksack else the police will shoot you dead.

Ola.

It all depends on what you call 'good,'

and 'bad.'

It's a subjective 'personal' experience.
