No, you do not need prior military experience to be become a police officer. Find out what your state requirements are to become a law enforcement officer. All states require you to go to college and attend law enforcement courses. You may also be required to attend different courses and training once you are a "recruit" in a law enforcement agency.

no.. you have to graduate the academy and apply for an open position... .having military experience will benefit you though..

no., however it would be easier to become a cop this way. a lot of cops are ex-military because it is a natural progression for their career path
