I had a pap smear, and pelvic exams all through my pregnancy, and all my results came back as an abnormal pap smear. I'm a little scared and worried. He said that he could treat it, but I'm afraid to get the procedure done. Help me, What should I do?

Its called Dysplasia...get the proceedure done or it will turn into cancer eventually. Take off a couple weeks off of work as well cause it does hurt like a son of a *****....and sit with a pillow between the legs.

Do not be afraid. If you do not take care of pre cancerous cells they can become cancerous. If you are afraid of the test. Tell your Dr. They can phone in medicine to reduce your anxiety. Though you will need to be driven. My daughter had to do that and we had to insist or no test. Hers was negative but she has a pap done every 3 months to be safe. Good Luck.

there are various procedures to cure this....freezing the cell area, burning it, etc. They sound much worse than they are. And the peace of mind you get once you start getting normal paps again is worth the 15 minute procedure. This actually is more common than you realize....preventive is better than dealing with cancer 10 yrs from now.

If it were me, and he could remove the precancerous cell, I'd want him to do it. will it be painful, is that what you're scared of? Do you have a good support system? Do what you need to do to stay alive and healthy for children

pre cancerous is precancerous, his goal is to remove these cells and follow you closely to ensure you don't them or similar lesions again, good luck
