Or is it the opposite, I need to throw more seed out on my lawn but I also need to winterize it. What order do I do this? Or can I do both around the same time? I have to winterize considering the lawn looked terrible this spring from not doing it last year!!!!! Also when is the best time to get rid of dang Grubs?????

Where I live we do not get much moisture.

Put the fertilizer down and then the seed. Scratch up the areas that need seeded however before you put down the fertilizer. The winterizer will help the seed's root development but get it down soon as possible. You want it to germinate yet this fall so you have the option to use a crabgrass preventer in the spring. Keep it moist so it germinates--not soggy though (the seed will rot).

Best time to control grubs in the midwest is mid-June with Scott's Grubex or Bayer with Merit. Both have the same active ingredient. If you are in a cooler climate that the midwest put it down a little later. In a warmer climate, a little earlier.

fall is the best time to freshen up your lawn.. go to your nursery and get some stuff for grubs.. follow the directions.. then get your lawn aerated.. that is where you have someone come and pull plugs of grass and dirt up from your lawn.. call a landscape company.. this will get some air and loosen up the dirt to your existing lawn..add about 1 inch of good top soil, seeds water thoroughly.. water until the new grass is has grown until you have had about 2 mowings.. then go get some 'Scott's winterize' I love this stuff.. keeps grass Green and works on the roots of the grass so you have strong grass for spring.. if you have weed problems.. they make it with a weed control.. water really well.. put the 'Scott's winterize with weed control' and let it stand 24 hours without water (or rain).. you will have beautiful grass come spring... if you do not have alot of moisture.. water extra.. or look into a seed that is drought resistant.(although you may not like that kind of grass)
