Better for what. I prefer pink. Purple is a royal color, though.

I am going to assign a meaning to what you mean by better and answer based on the idea that you are asking as if better means most beneficial to us. Therefore, I say pink, because it has more uses. babies are associated with pink, breast cancer is associated with pink, undercooked meat is associated with pink, clarifying which beverage often uses the color pink, diseases are often clarified by the color pink, and so much more.
Purple is just good to describe bruises and make easter prettier...and we use pink around easter anyway, so it is not necessary to make easter prettier.

I, personally love both although I'd settle more for a softer shade of purple like lilac, purple's kind of harsh.
But it doesn't matter what I think, what counts more is if either of the colors suit you best. I mean why require my opinion?
Just go ahead & wear whichever you like and work it girl =)
