I went to Las Vegas Pride, Long Beach Pride, Monterey Pride, and San Diego Pride this year. Las Vegas is pretty small, Monterey was even smaller. Long Beach was awesome and San Diego was bigger than I ever imagined. I had fun at every pride that I went to!

The Pride event I attend is usually anything but "Cool." It's usually HOT AND HUMID!
Chicago is notorious for it's hot and humid summers, and unpredictable weather!
Strangely this year, it was quite "cool" as it rained all morning and a chilly breeze blew in off the lake. But it heated up as the Parade wore on!
Lots of fun, always meeting new people and making friends! Everyone is always in such a great mood on Pride Day. Everyone greets everyone else with smiles and a salutation of "Happy Pride!"
Uncommon in the big city, but on Pride, everyone's "Family!"
Granted, all the politicians gladhanding at the beginning of the Parade gets really old, really fast. But the clubs and GLBT community organizations are always lots of fun!
It's the "after parties" that I can't stand. Nothing but a drunk-fest. Puking in the streets, allies and parking lots. Garbage everywhere and the lack of organization by the "city" itself, this year really p1ssed me off.
I parked my vehicle in a parking lot that I use every year, but this year the city wouldn't let anyone out of the lot until 6hrs after the Parade was over because of all the people still wandering in the middle of the streets.
There were four fist-to-cuff fights in that parking lot while we waited for our vehicles to be released. A bunch of us got wise and all went out for diner while we waited, but we returned to complete kaos.
What started out as a really great day, wound up being a total disaster.

Brooklyn Pride was very nice. I'd been feeling homesick because I come from Orlando and was used to Gay Days at Disney World. I ended up really appreciating Brooklyn Pride because it was less humid, much less hyped-up, and more diverse.
