Looks are kinda important - but not the most important. I don't think there are many truely ugly people in the world - so I don't know what you mean by ugly. If you mean that the man is average looking and not a GQ cover man - then no that is not ugly.
I like a guy who is funny, makes me laugh,
a guy who is clean and dresses nice
someone who is honest and never deceitful
someone who is not very jealous
someone who can show me new things and take me to new places
he should be smart and know how to fix things
he should be a hard worker and someone who is persuing a career and has goals in life.
he should like to talk to me - someone who can talk about his life and talk about who he really is...also a good listener - who can show an interest in my life and who I am.
These are the qualities that I would look for in a man.

Strength of character in a man is absolutely gorgeous and it shines through when you look at them. I would have to say guys who are really cute tend to be up themselves and that is truly an ugly trait. Personality is essential, ever known someone without personality? Is a boring time being around them no matter how cute they are.
Truthfully, looks are a minor part of a relationship. Looks contribute to lust whereas personality contributes to love.

That is a good question, i think it really depends on who you ask. Some might see it one way while some might view it completely the opposite way. Me personally, I would follow the heart.

IF THERE IS CONNECTION... i would definitly want to go on dates (as friends) and get to know him better, then if there is still that connection, i would except his question and be his girl...looks doest always matter. Through out the years looks get better and they change as you mature. if you are referring yourself as ugly..you shouldnt do that..express and show others around you your inner beauty...and it will shine beyond your appearance..be out going, sweet, respectful (let a girl give you the first kiss and so on), be understanding, trusting and caring...you will do fine!

I've met men that are incredibly, impossibly handsome, and then they open their mouths, and they're incredibly, impossibly rude, obnoxious, self absorbed, and they become incredibly ugly to me.
I've also met men that aren't much to look at, but then I get to know them, and they're funny, bright, insightful, kind, warm, passionate and charming, and I would much rather be with them than a handsome jerk anyday!
