I want to know what other people think of my school. Feel free to mention academics, social life, athletics, etc.

Racism I don't consider to be a problem here, they have many excellent programs for minority students.

I grew up half an hour from Bloomington. IU is a great school academically. (Indiana, Indiana, oh Indiana, we're all for you!!!!) It has one of the best medical programs in the country!! Athletics, well, the athletics have gone down hill over the last 10 years or so. Which by the way Bobby Knight was an ***!! So glad he went to Texas!!!

Socially, it can be racist, (although not nearly as racist as Martinsville!!!!) and there is alot of homosexuals that live in Bloomington. Don't know why, there just is. Let's not forget, Bloomington is where John Mellancamp lives. (right off of HWY 46 between Nashville and Bloomington)

But, good for you for getting into IU!!!! I hope my kids go there when they are old enough!!!

There are too many Candadians, Communists, and Butch Lesbian Professors there.

It is an average to slightly above average school academically. Socially I would say that you need to ask yourself if you want to hang out with a bunch of Canadians, Communists, and Butch Lesbian Professors.

Athletically they have a good basketball program but the womens' sports have been taken over by the Butch faction...the Professors have started recruiting Butch students and they are great athletes but don't add much to the academic or social side of things.

All in all I would say you can get a good education there but what kind of lifestyle do you want to lead??? If you are a Canadian Communist who is curious about her body, I say go for it!
