we all know where we were before we were born. mom.
i wonder if you meant before we were conceived? that question gives one a funny feeling as it occurs, but the answer is even more weird.
before conception and then gestation we don't exist. but yet we have all always existed. absolutely nothing and noone under the sun is new. we are all of this world now and always have been. all that we are was planted in this universe by the stars. we always will be here.
the iron in our blood that captures the oxygen and makes our life go is no different than the iron in a freight train, it all starts out as iron ore which is in fact no more than rust from this planets formation. the oxygen i mentioned, so vital to people is just a waste product of plants. both the iron and the oxygen are ancient. and when given any thought, mysterious. same is true for every other atom of our being. and hence of every dream and idea and question.
it is the wonderful, awesome orchestrated myriad of processes, that happen because in this universe thats what atoms do, that puts this all together and then conscious we then call it life.
where were we before we were born?

We were spiritual children of God the Father in the preexistence before we came to earth to gain a mortal body and to willingly accept the risks, the trials, and the joys of mortality.
At the Grand Council of Heaven, when God presented the Plan of Salvation to all His children, we shouted for joy (Job 38:7) at this opportunity, for without it, we could never progress toward exaltation in the next life.

We were in the primordial ooze. Maybe. Or maybe hanging out in the big waiting room in the sky, the one that said, "Get a life". You're hanging out in this room, flipping through a catalogue like at the hairdressers where you pick out your new 'do, only you're picking out your family. You have a shopping list of criteria to match up - race, location, size, wealth, health, degree of dysfunction, siblings, etc. etc. Yes, yes, yes, we do get to pick and choose our own families. You figure out why you made that choice. What have you learned?? Cause, if you haven't learned yet what it was you came here for, you'll be right back to that waiting room flipping through that catalog again!

every religion has a diff. version of who/where/what we were b4 we were born. The mormons said we were in heaven and we wanted to come here. I will say this: I most certainly DID NOT want to leave Heavenmart, and come to this crappy,overpopulated,underfinancially-nourished planet !!! i got voted off the island, so to speak, and so, ... im just messing with ya... yes , different religions say different things about how we got here.

You were just a twinkle in your daddy's eye. Just kidding. God knew you before you existed and you came into being as a bundle of cells..
