The answers to the first 2 quwstions is yes. you can be infectied with an s.t.d. bacterium and have no overt symptoms. Kidney infects can sometimes be form a sexually transmitted disease. The bug gets into the urethra and travels up and enters the kdney's ureters. and thence into the kidney(s). Women are more prone to such infections as their urethra is very close to their vagina and to their anus. A man's urethra is at the end of his penis further away from his anus. Infection can be introduceced by sexual contact or hand contact. (e.g. improper wiping after a bowell movement, etc.). Both, or all partners should be examined at, roughly the same time, and microbiological cultures taken. All should be treated at the same time (if treatment is required) in order to avoid ping pong re-infection. The causative organism is more likely a bacterium or chlamydia than a virus.

I don't think so, I had a kidney infection a few months ago, and my husband was fine throughout my infection.

I couldn't just sit around and do nothing like my doctors suggested.

They didn't want me to do anything or to take herbs or herbal remedies, but I had to try something - they just wanted me to do dialysis!

This program allowed me to take control of my health. I went from Stage 4 to Stage 3 kidney disease.

It was easy to do and my BUN, creatinine and anemia are all in better ranges.

Yes, diseases can be transmitted through sexual intercourse. And yes, kidney diseases can be transmitted from a man to a woman. The kidneys are the "filter" for the entire body and therefore, are exposed to all sorts of pathogens.
