the other day, i caught my teacher staring at me as she walked by my desk. She just smiled, and i gave her a weird look, and looked away from her. Then today, she didn't even talk to me, even though i'm her teacher's assistant. She was talking to the class, and standing diagnally behind me, so i could see her out of the corner of my eye, and i could see that she was looking at me for a few seconds. Why would she act like she's embarrassed, even though she's a teacher, and i'm her assistant? I asked her a question, and she could barely look at me.

Lets create the same thing in a different situation. You and a classmate are selling stuff for a charity. You get put in charge and your classmate is asked to help you. One day you notice how good your assistant is doing and you stare at them while thinking what a good job they are doing. Shortly you realize this person is making faces at you. How would you feel? Might you get a little annoyed? It will most likely blow over soon and be forgotten. Right now you might be thinking how should I look at her? and she might be thinking the same thing. If this is getting in the way of your helping her or your school work, than ask her to talk about what happened, but it really sounds like something both of you will forget soon.

Maybe she felt embarassed because you gave a her weird look and looked away from her when she was smiling and being nice. Try apologizing to her.

If she still acts weird, maybe she just likes you in a more-than-student way. If that's the case, then RUN AWAY AND START FREAKING OUT! Hehe, just kidding. Just keep distance if this is the case.

She could also just like staring at students. You probably hurt her feelings by looking away and giving her a look. Other students would've probably ignored it.... or not!

Perhaps you should see about getting reassigned to another teacher, seeing as you've had so many questions about and apparent problems with this one. Are you a student? How is it that this is such a concern? Are you a college assistant? You seem to read a lot into how your teacher treats you - it seems to me her main focus is on her students and teaching them - not worrying about petty middle school sounding things.

It's hard for teachers to draw that line- if you're her assistant she probably feels some sort of friendship towards you, but it's really taboo to befriend a student.
Or maybe you had something in your teeth...

Maybe you have to calm down and relax. Dont look at her. Maybe she is going through something or maybe she needs to lay back for a time.
