I have to do blood test and needle (vaccine) I'm Still scared. What do I do. I want tips not mean stuff. I mean I wans't even afraid at 17, but I know more about risks........................

Don't worry.. yeah it will hurt for a second or two but you'll be fine... there isn't really risk on giving your blood if it's for a test they won't take too much.. when you get the shot just relax if you tense up it will hurt more...
so relax and think of something that excites you mentally... day dream about your favore lover... or fantizy see it with your eyes close don't worry about anything else!
Relax count slowly to ten... 1...

5.........6........................7...................8...................9.........10
breath in your nose and out your mouth relax...
just do that when your in the exam room shut your eyes and remember your goals or your fanitsy!!!

For the blood test, listen to what the lab person. When he or she says relax your arm, relax it.

When he or she says, make a fist, make a fist. I had a blood drawn last week Friday. It wasn't so bad. What I did also was NOT look as the lab person stuck the needle in my arm. I turned my head away.

Plus, it felt like a hard pinch on the skin which lasted only a second. As long as you don't watch the blood being taken out, it's ok.

Once that's done, you may have a little bruise for a few days, but believe me it doesn't hurt at all.

As for the vaccination, relax your arm. You need the muscles to be relaxed so that the needle has room to go into the muscles. The more relaxed, the less pain you'll feel. Plus, the new needles these days are so thin that you might not even feel it at all. I didn't feel a thing when I had a shot for tetanus.

Again, don't watch the lab person inject you. It just makes you more nervous.

The needles are disposable so the one used on you has never been used before on anyone. The same for the vaccine. I'm not sure what risks you mean unless you are being tested for something you'd rather share about. You'll make it and be better for the experience. Each time it gets easier.

dont be scared. most lab techs are very skilled at getting blood and it doesn't hurt much at all. don't look at them putting the needle in, it might make you woozy. i don't consider myself weak-stomached, but once when I was helping with the snacks in the blood mobile, right after I had just given blood myself, i was watching them take the blood, and that was the only time i have felt myself almost pass out. lol. i've given 2 gallons of blood so far over the years, and i survived. by the way...whenever you get married and have a baby(ies), you'll get over that fear (and any modesty you might have had left, too, for that matter, lol), as they take a lot of blood samples. but again, don't worry, it doesn't hurt and they use sterile needles (in a sterile package), so there's no risk of contracting anything. :o)

Hmm, I remember back when i was a teen I use to be scared of getting shots or getting blood drawn. I guess you kind of have to learn to block it out to an extent. I eventually got to where I could actually watch them do it. (well drawing the blood, not the shot thing =P) It's all really a matter of mentally being able to block it out and know that there is going to be some pain involved but take their word for it, it is just a little stick =) I hope you get over your fear dear. =)

Thousands of people get blood drawn and shots every day. The risks are very, very small. Tell the person at the doctor's office or lab you are nervous and get it done as quick as possible. The longer you have to think about it, the more anxious you will be. Just do it.

this is how I get through it...
I say a prayer then I don't look when they take blood out and when it is time for the shot I ask the person that is giving the shot to be quick....if they put the needle in slowly I feel it more....fast not so much..
I do understand what you mean

you should think more of the positiv side, like what do u want with that or is it harmful or helpful to me. it wont hurt much if you only have to be injected intramascularly or thru ur veins. it only hurts if its skin testing. also, i would suggest you should ask for topical anesthetics before you'll be pricked with the needle, that would help with the pain.

You'll be fine. The risks are low, and when you are done with it all, you will wonder why you worried so about it. just take deep breath, and smile, it will take the edge off. Good luck.

Don't even think about it when they are taking blood from you. Since your older now, it won't hurt as bad as you think it will. Close your eyes. Its not as bad as you think.
