Would you ever want to? Please have an explanation to, expain, or state why and your reasons. As, for me, personally I would say no. I'll make a longer explanation to why instead of just simply saying "it's cruel" or similiar to that.
1)They're too expensive and it's unnecessary. It costs about thousands of dollars for ONE. Where I live it's not extremely cold to be wearing those. Sure, I'd understand when people kill the animal when they use up the hole thing(or almost), for survival, when there's no other option, and those kinds of reasons. I'm against it when people do it for fashion, vanity, greed, power, and anything like that because fur farmers just kill the animals simply for the fur and throw the bodies away. Who eats meat from those animals that get killed for fur. For example: when is it intensely cold to be wearing realfur coats in Texas?
I was going to say more, but I'm running out of characters to work with.
As for PETA,sometimes I agree, but not always. No offense.

I wear leather, and I eat meat, eggs and dairy. My car has leather seats, I wear leather belts, my wife has leather handbags from Coach, I carry a leather wallet. My dogs wear leather collars and I walk them with leather leashes. Harvesting livestock for their fur is no different.
I have no problem with that.

I would wear fur but not from animals that were only killed for their fur. Animals that have been killed for food are ok because more complete use is gotten from the life that was taken. Many people prefer leather, not fur, because of its strength and durability. It provides physical protection where a man-made product would wear through or tear. I see no reason on earth why anyone would have a "need" to wear the skin of a baby seal. That is just vanity. I agree, PETA has completely discredited itself. If I hunt it is for food but we don't throw away the skin. Every bit that can be used is used.

No and no.
Granted I am not in a climate nor an existence where I have to scrape a living off the land.
I have _heard_ that the way you get fur is to electrocute the animal - and I did find a few links, but honestly, just looking up facts to verify what I've heard is sickening.
I know what you mean about PETA. The main problem I personally have with them is I think the methods they use to get their point across aren't quite right. If you beat people across the head with issues, people will tune them out. It's just human nature. There's got to be a better way, and I wish I knew one. Gotta keep working on that!

No, fur should stay on an animal. The only way i would wear a fur coat is if the fur was from a really shaggy animal that need some hair removal(without it being killed) Or if i was stuck on an icy mountian with hypthermia. Killing animals for beauty is wrong. Beautiful fur is for beautiful animals not beautiful people. Tigers are cute and need to stay cute with that fur lol

I could not stand the knowledge that some gorgeous creature had to be slaughtered just to keep me fashionably warm. Faux fur looks just as good on a human, and costs thousands less. I agree that for one living off the land it would be a far different story, but that is not a real consideration in this age. I do condone down-filled clothing & pillows, but only when it's done humanely, which does not require killing the birds: Down is simply gathered from the migrating ducks' & geese' empty nests. They return to the same sites every year, so it is a renewable harvest, as the birds will clear out any old down & feathers before they lay their eggs anyway. Some companies even label their down products as 'humanely gathered'. I've been told L.L. Bean does this.

First of all, you are looking for a fight that you can't win. Go ahead and call us names and be immature and stomp your feet because there are people in the world that (oh my gosh) disagree with you. Wearing a fur coat does not make someone a murderer any more than the kid that buys a burger at McDonald's.
This has been argued for generations. You aren't going to settle it here - nor ever. Your prices are way off. New at a posh store on Rodeo Drive, maybe. But I doubt there are such posh people here. I have personally bought real rabbit fur coats with satin lining for $50 brand new.
So get your act together, take your soapbox somewhere else and pick a topic that you KNOW about rather than insulting other people for being different from you.
This is not a communist country and we all don't think alike. Deal with it.
Oh, and I bought a fur coat at a garage sale for $20. It was silver fox. Whether the person holding the garage sale had a clue what it was really isn't my concern. But when I took it to the cleaners, they advised me of it's content. I'm glad I didn't throw it in a washing machine!

Heavens yes!! Fur is a gorgeous material that should be shown off. I personally have 7 fur jackets; the cheapeat being a mink at 600$ and the one I got for my 18th birthday was a custom sable with mink collar which totaled 18000$ (yes 18thousand) I also wear leather jackets, pants, purses, shoes and gloves; as well as, a few mink stoles. On any given day I will wear between 1and 3 animals.
-Americans with good taste.

Well do you eat hamburgers? Are your shoes leather? Leather jackets are animal skins with the fur removed. Think about it. Are you not realizing you are part of the complaint? I wear leather, suede, fur [mink, fox etc..] In fact I even have a jacket made from a black and white cow [ I presume cow with fur still on ]. I have no shame or apologies. The last person that verbally attacked me for it told me leather shoes were different when I posed the question regarding her shoe material. I don't need to justify it. I can afford them and wear them. Truth be known I gave my mink away to my brothers girlfriend in Idaho because living on an southern island of Texas I didn't need it. Oh I forgot I have a sheep skin coat too. I am recycle friendly too. I gift my coats to the local thrift store when I get new ones. I promise you they sell within an hour or less.

I sell pet chinchillas. They have the softest fur but I simply could not abide wearing a chinchilla coat or any other fur coat. I prefer the flawless beauty of windblown, water drenched, muddy or dusty fur on live animals. I am in a position whereas I could afford a fur but I think most women wear fur as a status symbol and I'm not like that.

I don't feel too bad about wearing leather; really not much of a difference. Leathe ris the best protection when riding a motorcycle or sparring, really they haven't come close for arbrasion protection unless you want chain mail, and thats far less comfortable. I don't feel too bad about rabbit fur, either.
I think I draw the line where the animal is being used exclusively for its skin and not food as well.
PETA has completely discredited itself, I want nothing to do with them. If another group is out there pushing for reasonable and humane legislation in the treatment of creatures, I might support them, but PETA gets not a cent from me.

I have 3 furs that I rarely wear but love to own: One beaver, one silver fox and a possum coat. They are so beautiful and luxurious I go into the closet and pet them. They are, however, second hand furs I got off ebay. I wouldn't buy a new coat, but since the animals were already dead, I see no harm in enjoying their fur while knowing I haven't caused the killing of more of them. Is that weird logic? Oh well, that's why I have them.
