Just wondering if its normal for your python to smell like rats. A little smelly. Or are they odourless?

Pythons do not smell. The bedding you use may have an ordor but snakes dont smell. Keep him clean and happy with the right lights and heating pads not rocks. They make good pets. Hope this helps.

Do you feed your python rats? I have had a python for along while and I have never noticed a smell. Keep him misted and a bowl with water in it so he can soak in it has your python Shed since you have had him? For the bedding we use Repti Bark you can find them at Pet Smart Any pet store it also helps them to shed

they will have that smell for about a day or two because when they eat they will have the smell of the rat on them. i have 2 ball pythons and they smell like that to after i feed them, i just wait til the next day to soak them to get rid of the smell. don't worry this is natural.

They definitely have an odor, mostly from their waste which isn't anywhere near the caliber of cat or dog waste, but certainly noticeable. This can be minimized if you clean the cage.
