You gotta see it. It's the ultimate true love, selfless sacrifice, story. And you above shouldn't give away the ending!!! I loved it so much I bought it. Even though it is a remake, and fantasy. But it makes you think; how many people did it really happen to on that ship? How many people really did sacrifice their own lives so the ones they loved could live; lying to those they loved, promising them everything would be okay, the ships were coming, knowing what lie ahead. My mom came over on an oceanliner about the same age as the heroine, only she had my five-year-old oldest brother with her. And she was terrified that her ship would sink like the Titanic did. And she had the same accommodations as the rest of the immigrants did. Every time I watch that movie, I can feel her fear and uncertainty about heading into the unknown, and wondering what fate awaits you in that big, beautiful ,free country called America that people were willing to risk their all to get to. And there was no welfare then to help you out. You were on your own. My dad worked in a sweatshop for years so he could afford to buy her a ticket to come here and sponsor her and my brother. It's a must see movie, especially if your parent's were immigrants. If you believe in the power of love, it is a must see!

The original "A Night to Remember" was very well done. The last one was " 90210 with a ship sinking. I know the love story was pure fiction, she could have made room for him on the raft. However , Here in Halifax NS there is a headstone for a " J.Dawson" and for months after the movie came out, there were always fresh flowers on his grave. There are about 300 victims buried here in Halifax. The bodies were brought here for identification. The unclaimed were buried here. The real J.Dawson was an 18 year old Stokers mate. He became far more famous in death than he probably would have in life. Part of the movie was filmed here. Rest in Peace J. Dawson.

Ahh... the movie that launched Leonardo DiCaprio's career & Kate Winslet's.
Didn't like it to be honest.
It was like mush overload. The dialogue was truly corny to say the least. Basically the story ended appropriately with the sinking ship.
