I don't have any kids and we always get that week off. But I don't have a ton of money to spend. I live in NJ and would have to fly. I like places with a kitchen and a beach. I am also open to other places besides Florida.

Try Marco Island. Winter rates might not be too bad. You can go to the Everglades and go on an airboat ride and see some gators....
Otherwise, maybe Pensacola and Ft Walton Beach, the AirForce weapons museum at Eglin AFB, look for UFO's while you hang out on the beaches.

Try out Boyton Beach; it's between Palm Beach and Delray Beach (which has a great nightclub right on the beach). Or try Daytona Beach...it has fantastic beaches plus a boardwalk !!!

St. Pete Beach. There are always private 1 - 2 bedroom condos for rent. Much cheaper than hotels.
I live here. I will edit this and add a few names for you tomorrow.
BTW - Christmas is much less crowded than August in this part of FL. Also, August is a our WORST month climate wise, never come here late summer.

Ft. Lauderdale is not real expensive and the beach is nice. Daytona is also a really fun choice. Panama City Beach if you like the touristy type thing. Sanibel Island for peace and quiet.

the Gulf coast is the excellent. try Clearwater/Saint Pete. i'm from the Tampa Bay section so i be attentive to the gulf coast properly. you will locate lots of inns alongside the Gulf Coast. try Saint Pete coastline or Clearwater coastline. Theres additionally Treasure Island, Sand Key, etc etc yet i think of you will choose the main exciting at St. Pete coastline or Clearwater coastline. you will locate inns with a kitchen, its purely something you may call around for yet there are those lodging obtainable.

Just about anywhere in Florida is going to cost a lot more at that time of year. Go in August if you want to go cheap.

Marco island is extremely expensive. The futher south you come the more expensive it is.
