Don't assume anything...Often times water from showering will run down the tub where the curtain or door meets the wall. One way to find out, place a small sponge (approx 3" x 4") on the edge of the tub where the curtain or door meets the wall and shower as usual. After you shower check to see if the sponges are wet. If the sponges are wet then you've found your water source. You also need to determine if the floor gets wet even when that shower/tub has not been used in 2 or more days. If so then it is a supply line leak and not a drain line leak. Finally check to see if you can see any spaces where the faucet handles, spigot and diverter handle meets the wall. If there is even a small uncaulked space then water can literally pour into the hole and cause damage. You can even have a loved one watch as you take a shower as normal and see if they can visually see where the water is coming from.

Well, for one, I would get rid of the carpet in the bathroom. It holds moisture and is hard to get the mold spores out of.
If you think there is a leak under the tub or in the wall, you should have it fixed ASAP, because the problem will only get worse and more expensive to fix as time goes on.

The plumbing or drain could be leaking inside somewhere. Is there any way into the back of the plumbing wall? The plumbing wall is the wall that the tub's faucet and showerhead are on. There possibly could be a ton of black mold back there - don't want to scare 'ya though - so be careful.
