I would like to get a divorce quick and not wait out the 3 years for a separation. I have given the marriage a long and hard thouugh for the last 2 years and decided that i'm ready to call it quits.

I cannot use abuse, battery or unreasonable behaviour on his part. I found out about his affair 2 years ago and din bother to check in the last year. If i say that I am having an affair (even though it's not true) and that becomes grounds for me to get the divorce over and done with in the next 6 months, what are time implications of providing false information?

Even though i am the one in a wreak emotionally and the one hurt, i still care too much about his to "ruin" his reputation or have him go through inconvenience, I rather take the rap, get out and get my life in order without him. I'm losing it and i need out fast.

hmm.. i think there's way to file for divorce veri quickly...without waiting for 3 yrs.. i have a fren who's situation like yours too. her hubby also had affair and in turn, he accused her of having it with me.. she do love him alot and did not want to sue him for having affair etc. she provide docs in that they both agreed that they can't lie with each other anymore. she file a 'false' statement like he was drinking n gambling in which she can't stands it. in the end, they both got divorce IMMEDIATELY and do not wait for 3 yrs. and he only need to pay certain amount which I think is $2000 per person. That is $4000 in total...

One thing's for sure. You can't bring a petition for divorce using your affair as grounds.

Your problem seems more deep seated than it appears. It really is about yourself and not anyone else. If you are honest with yourself you will admit to this, though I think it is unlikely that you will. Life may need to present you with more challenges before you realise that you must look for the answer within yourself. I do not think that you are ready to accept this yet. Now you are only interested in quick-fixes. Look behind you, you could be leaving a long trail of damaged loved ones.

I am sorry I am not able to answer your question directly but I leave you with one piece of advice which you are unlikely to take. - Don't take Marriage and Divorce lightly.

Do not lie. Eventually it will catch up. Best thing you can do is file, become legally separated, and do not fight over the material things. It should go pretty quickly. Mine went very quickly. And I even put a pause on it to see if we could work it out. But he was an addict and did not even show up to the final hearing. So, I did not have to worry about him putting up a fight and we even had kids. Just be honest.

Irreconcilable differences based on a mutual lack of respect and failure to communicate. No ones reputation goes through the gutter.

I think you can check with the lawyer. I believe that once you submit your application for divorced, they can processed it very fast unless your hubby refused to agree to this then both of you must have separation for three years before both of you can divorced. The next alternative is that you must have evdience on your hubby affairs then you can apply for divorce.

So long both of you agreed that both had "separated" for 3 years, you don't have to wait for another 3 years.
