Sports loyalties can be amazing. I have been watching hockey since the early 60's and remember the last Toronto team to win it all. I was a Ranger fan, hated the Habs, was okay with the leafs. I moved to Edmonton in the early 70's and got to watch the Oilers grow from the WHA into the force of the 80's.If someone calls your team boring, you take offence. That's what being a fan is all about. Like most things, if you take it to the extreme, it is not good. Relax buddy,enjoy the game, cheer for your team, boo for those you don't like but please be realistic enough to not take it personally. Hard to prove nay sayers wrong, hard to prove you are right.

ya know what I will email you and we will have a long debate because I believe that since the vancouver squad had a much better record than the leafs that the canucks deserve more praise but for some reason the leafs get more credit for their close run but the canucks went downhill at the end and the leafs went uphill THE canucks still had a better record at the end by like 10 wins and they played harder teams in the northwest division. the leafs hockey was boring, especially with Domi and Sundin on their team they just had no offence anyway gees enough for now but you'll hear more from me maybe.....

T.O. is not boring at least under Quinn. Who knows under Maurice..is it back to the Pat Burns days?
The Make Beliefs I would never clasify as the most exciting teams at all. I mean it's usually to man old farts from Lindros, Allison recent days to those Roberts, Nieuwendyk, etc. years.
Why bother debating though, you're a Laffs fan. Those of us outside the Centre of the Universe would hate you just on merit alone even if you had Crosby, Ovechkin, Jagr and every exciting superstar in the league on your team.

its not much that i think they are a boring team, i just dont like them and the mentality. Why do leaf fans think their team is so great, yeah they have history, thats awesome, but what have they done in recent years that makes them the center of the universe?? aside from dissapoint year after year, sign the players who are old and need to retire?? last time they touched any hardware was back in 67(the important hardware),ill leave it at that, when their younger guys develop, then let me know, till then go sens go!

devoted leaf fan .....not going to argue with some of the points made here....some are valid....
I think the media began the "canada's team" theory. started with foster hewitt and cbc broadcasting leaf games across the country.
leafs were not that exciting to watch in recent years....lol...joey only played for a stint...so i wouldn't call that an era...lol.....
toronto lost their transition game when they joined the eastern conference (in my opinion).
Note to all leafs fans**** people are going to hate us...accept it and move on....

Ok. First of all, Toronto thinks they are the center of the universe. They think they are Canada's team. They think that because they have the HHOF that they MUST be Canada's team. The entire province of Ontario likes them. They are all followers and have the exact same beliefs as every other Ontarian. They are like a cancer, showing up at EVERY arena in the WORLD showing off their 40 year old blue and white wet dream. They only have 13 Stanley Cups yet they still want to beleaf that they are Canada's team. You've never won 5 cups in a row. You've never reached 24 Stanley Cups. So why does the entire province think they are the best team since the Indians used to play? You are mostly arrogant. You mainly only like your team because "my daddy likes them too!" You take bus trips to US cities and act like complete jerks. Alot of you are suffering from alcoholism which is where the "We would have beaten the Habs in 93' if Gretzky got ejected from the game" came from! You drive around with those extremely annoying flags every single season. Another thing is you ALWAYS HAVE GREAT GOALTENDING!!! You get lucky with every single goalie that you acquire. Cujoke, Belfore, Raycroft... the list goes on and on.... This intensifies the Leaf fans' ********* because they actually ramble on about how good they are going to be because their goalie bails them out for 25% of their games!!!
I think the last great player you drafted was Sergei Berezin??!! You get all your skill from other teams via trade.
All you do is drink Tim Horton coffee and talk about the Leafs. The press treats every Leaf that leaves like crap. Witness Tie Domi last year. You have the HHOF because you have a larger population base than Montreal, hence more money for the NHL. You plan your Stanley Cup parades 10 games into the season. You are all followers. You are either die-hard or just follow them because you don't "want to be left out..." Another thing is you always say "If Buffalo ever won the cup or the Superbowl, WE WOULD NEVER HEAR THE END OF IT!!!!!!!!" It's more like you wouldn't want to hear it because you'd be jealous. If the LEAFS ever won the cup, we would NEVER EVER hear the end of it. There are 30,000,000 people in Canada. And I bet you 2/3 of them like the Leafs!!!
Thank God for Buffalo, NJ and Philadelphia. Cuz without those 2 teams Toronto probably WOULD go to the cup!!! But your good goaltending can't bail you out when you get 1 shot per period on Philadelphia!! Your cheap goals that only the Leafs seem to get don't work against NJ cuz they don't even let you out of the zone. Another thing is you all think Sundin is the best player in the league. And when he hits 500 goals next month, you will ALL think he's amazing!! He has no one to play with. Buffalo will shut his *** down again in round 1 and he'll be skating with his tail in between his legs.
It looks like you got lucky with another great goalie. Why Boston ever gave up on him was idiotic. Your defensive core looks pretty solid too. You have to get wingers for Sundin. Other than that, it's 40 years.
