Many biochemists are working on gene related topics and DNA analysis at present. A growing field! Haha!

Lots of biotech companies employ a large number of biochemists, to work on research. Genentech is notable, as they were the ones that invented synthetic insulin, a lifesaver for diabetics.

As strange as it sounds, biochemistry is a good field for intellectual property law (aka patent law). Think pharmaceuticals.

I am also a biochem major too, so I am also wondering this question myself.
But look at my school site and they provide a list of jobs that biochem student can get:

(Note: MCB is almost the same as biochem)

One can work in hospital research, university research or private company recearh division or you also can work for FDA.
