Traditional war between two or more armies may follow the "rules" of warfare. For instance, avoiding the destruction of hospitals, respecting Red Cross tents, trying not to bomb schools, or areas where civilians live. The Geneva Convention set rules to govern the treatment of prisoners.

Guerrilla warfare is unorganized and unruly. Any and all targets are fair game to the guerrilla fighters. They are usually a minority, who feel so strongly about their cause that they will ignore all "rules" of warfare to win. This includes taking and killing hostages and so-called "suicide bombers" who take civilian lives on school buses or shopping areas.

Rebuilding after guerrilla warfare is nearly all placed upon the victims shoulders because the guerrillas have scattered, and are impossible to find. There is no country or government to hold responsible for damages. This leads to long-term hatred and resentment of any persons who share the same race or ethnic background of the guerrilla fighters, even if they or their families had no part in the fighting.

Guerilla warfare usually has no total objectives.

It is not controlled.

Regular armies know who the enemy are, Guerilla warfare means anyone can be the enemy.

There are a couple, expand on them a buntch, add what I call fluff, and you will do fine.

Because guerillas don't follow any types of codes of conduct. They don't mind blowing up children, burning homes, etc. There is no declared war, and no clear lines between enemies.

I'd offer a contrarian answer. I'd talk about Castro. Your teacher wants you to argue that organized free countries possess more social capital than awful communist countries/dictatorships/militaristic countries.

History is one of the most easily corruptible subjects.
