At my doc app this morning I was dilated to a two. That was about 10 hrs ago and since then I kind of feel like I could be in labor. My back is killing me and my stomach hurts every so often. I went into labor at 32 weeks but still couldn't tell when I was having contractions. The monitor would say I had one, but I still felt the same. Anyway I don't know if I am having contractions but my back hurts so bad I would almost give myself an epidural (just kidding). The baby was still for the longest, but since I've layed down she has started to move. Will they move when you are in true labor? Does anyone think I'm having contractions? I've been drinking water, but it makes me feel like throwing up and I have a really bad headache. Any comments will be greatly appreciated.

I called L&D before asking the question, the nurse on shift sounded really mean and said to do what I thought was best. She wasn't much help thats why I wanted to ask Experienced moms.

I had bad back pains when I was in labor. It sounds like you could be in labor. I would try having someone page your OB and see what they think. And if no one will be helpful on the phone, go to the hospital and tell them to hook you up to a monitor to see how the baby is doing and to check your cervix for progress. Some nurses you get on the phone are jerks, so if you can't get someone helpful, just waddle up there and let them know you demand service!!!

You could be starting early labour. It is possible. It is really about just waiting and seeing. Early labour can come and go for a few days before active labour kicks in. It's great that you are feeling baby move. You will notice baby moves less than usual as he/she becomes further engaged. In fact, during active labour you probably will not notice much movement at all. Lay on your left side for optimal blood circulation if you need a rest. Better yet, have a nice warm bath and try to get some sleep. It will help your back and help you to get loosened up for the big event. Try leaning over a birth ball or the side of a couch and keep the pressure off. Forward positions are best if you have alot of backache. Get someone to rub your tailbone with counterpressure or squeeze your hips (double hip squeeze)If you have a high pain tolerance look for signs of increased show, diarrhea and pressure. You will do great.

Labor is different for everyone, and yes, you will still feel fetal movement even in labor. My daughter was kicking inside me even once her head was out! I think you should go to the doctor first thing in the am, or go right to the hospital and get checked out. Worse thing they do is tell you you're find and send you home. But don't ignore the back pains. It could be back labor. All depends on how you are carrying and what position the baby is in.

Yes.
My son was still kicking and moving when I was pushing.
If your back hurts a lot and sitting down or changing of activities do not cease the pain, then you are in true labor. Go check with the OB.
Throwing up also could be a sign that your body is preparing for labor and delivery. I threw up before I had my baby because the stomach need to be emptied.

My first daughter was a wiggle worm through my whole labor and delivery. Everytime they checked me they would comment on how much she moved. My back hurt so bad so I got in the tub and it helped, until I got out. Then I realized I was having some cramping and thought it was time to call the dr. I had been checked earlier in the day and was dialated to almost 3 and I think the dr checking may have helped things along. Start timing your 'pains' (which I'm sure are contractions) and then call the dr. As for feeling like you're going to throw up...I had heartburn and wanted to throw up throughout labor. I'm thinking you're well on your way to delievery!! Good luck!!! What's the baby's name?

Sounds like the beginning of labor. I had pains, albeit slight, 20 mins. apart for 3 days! During labor I didn't feel any movement because of the epideral. Big waves of pressure though. Good luck!!

If I were you, I'd be on the phone with your on-call OB or at least the nurses in Labor and Delivery.
If you have a history of early labor and not being able to recognize labor, you should probably get checked.
It might be nothing, but it's better to be safe than sorry, and you will hardly be the first woman who jumped the gun.
