What is a good Halloween Costume?

I have a 1 1/2 year old and a 2 1/2 year old, both girls. I would like something original and cute...not like a plastic princess dress or mask from the store. Any suggestions?

dressing them up as veggies or fruits is always funny, like a little carrot and a turnip... funny funnny funny
