What is the consistency of the turf ? Is it a new form of artificial turf; or some form of actual grass/soil turf?

It's Field Turf, the same stuff that's down in almost every dome and other stadiums that don't have natural grass in the country.

The days of Astroturf are pretty much over (thank God).

Funny, I was thinking the same thing after watching all the pre-game stuff...got on the computer and starting searching...it's called "Field-Turf"...the artificial turf is gone...too many injuries

Its called field turf, a newer artificial surface that uses recycled tires at its base.
