I was looking around my itunes and I found this file that says Feel Good Inc. with 0KB. I try to delete it but this window pops up and it says " Cannot Delete, Make sure you locate the correct file/disk"

I don't understand what this means so, how can i delete this file off my computer?

I tried the safe mode. It didnt work & I tried to look it up on C- Drive and still couldnt delete.

To tell the embrassing truth, I got the song off of myspace =P. And one of the suggestion is redownloading it and deleting it. I dont think it's hosted up there anymore. Anyways if it did I cant remember which profile i DL it from.

One of the suggestion is use the Command Prompt? Can anyone elaborate more into this? Or any other suggestion on deleting this file?

Don't try to delete this file in iTunes. Instead close out of iTunes (making sure it is not running at all) and go to the file thru Windows Explorer until you get there and delete the file that way.

If you cannot delete a 0 byte file (or any other file either for that matter), a way to get around the problem that has worked for me is moving away files you might wanna keep somewhere else only leaving the troublesome file left in the directory.

Then from an MS-DOS prompt use the "DEL" command and delete the whole directory and everything left in it (just like chopping of a branch from a tree so to speak).
You can then recreate the directory (if you like) and move back the files you moved out.

For info about how to use the "DEL" command, use DEL /?
and you get info about the syntax et cetera.

If i have any ipod programs running, close them and delete the file. If that doesnt work, restart computer and boot to safe mode.(before u see the xp logo and d blue blocks running across the screen, click F8 and chooze safe mode) u will see a set of madness on d screen but then u will log on to windows, try delete the file, when successful, reboot normally. Sounds like a virus, or bad piece of spy-ware. Get a program, to take care of that. If you try to do it your self. You might end up with more problems. Even if it's not something bad, these programs, will see it as an empty file, and most likely get rid of it.

Make sure to get a back up before you do anything. And before anything try to do a system restore to a early time, where you don't remember seeing the file.

Ussualy when you cannot delete file from your computer that mean there is file extention related to the following in your windows, the problem you have is to locate that file since when you download something ussualy it goes to docoment setting and the company ussualy use diffrent word instead their company name which hard to find. the best way is to reinstall the same program and once you have it then you can delete it from add and remove in control panel. the other way is ONLY if you understand computer registry, you can delete that file from registry.
