the parents probably don't do research on what the symptoms are... or just buy everything their kids say and aren't willing to look into it themselves.

Sounds like denial to me....
Any smart parent would know the signs whether they were ever in the same situation or not. A lot of parents these days have been stoned a time or two, and have probably experimented with a couple others, so they should definitely know the signs....The other ones should read a book or two.
Maybe they're just too afraid to do anything about it....
You should try and be more specific when asking an important question like this one, cause it's no joke.... ! ! ! !
Good luck.

Its not even about parents not caring. When I was in high school I snuck out to a party and came home drunk. To this very day my parents don't know about it. That doesn't mean they didn't care just means I was slick enough for them not to find out. Kids are gonna be kids and parents can't watch them 24 hours so there are some thing that they will get away with.

Easy. When I was younger, my best friend and my younger sister and I was heavy crack users. My best friend ended up in a home, and my sister was tied down onto a chair in the shower by her grandfather for a week.(my sister is a half sister.). I was the one that used the most out of us three, but I never showed any signs of addiction. No one knew that I was using drugs. For one, after I would use as much as they would, and they'd be up for three days straight, I would go and lay down and sleep. I would wake up refreshed. When I had decided to quit I did it and I didn't go through withdrawals, I am an unique breed. I cannot get addicted to anything...So I am very sure that there is others out there that are like that, and their parents cannot see it, or choose not to see it, or they do not know the signs of it.

it may have to with busy lives that sometimes families get into, or it just may be that the parent is is denial, or it could be that a parent does not know their kids at all and can't see the changes happening with them.
