any kind of conditioner, and a rat tail comb. apply the conditioner, and take the comb and scratch away the cradel cap. make sure you do not hit the soft spot, go around it.you won't get it all out in the first try, depending on how severe the case, but do it every three days until all gone. also, instead of using the same water to rinse your babys hair with that you wash it with, use fresh running water to rinse with. the water is dirty, and is building up on the babies scalp.

My son had bad cradle cap, starting at around 3 weeks that just wouldn't go away. The baby oil, olive oil, dandruff shampoo, and the Gentle Naturals cradle cap treatment did nothing. It was all a waste of money.

Then when he was 4 months old, a relative who's a nurse told me to try Aquaphor. It comes in a tube with a dark blue lid, and that got rid of the cradle cap within a few days. I rubbed it on twice a day. It is a thick clear cream, and it doesn't rub in very well, so I put a hat on him for about 10 or 15 minutes after every application.

After it went away, I stopped using it, and a few days later it started to come back, so I started using it twice a day again, for about two weeks total.

He's 7 1/2 months now, and it hasn't come back.

Forget all the other messy stuff, and get the Aquaphor.

My pediatrician told me to use a mild anti-dandruff shampoo(I chose Neutrogena). Let it sit for 5 min. then wash out being careful to avoid getting any into their eyes. Rubbing oil on it helps, too. Just don't pick at it. It can become inflamed. They also make a cradle cap treatment over the counter, I think it's called Gentle Naturals and it's in a blueish green bottle. If all else fails talk to your pediatrician and they should be able to provide you with something that will work.

Plain ole baby oil and a very soft toothbrush. Daub the spot with the oil, and gently massage the cap in a circular motion, several times a day. It should clear in about 3-5 days. My sister got it all the time when she was a baby, and I was often enlisted by my mom to do this for her (I was 10).

Just wash the hair as normal. You have to use a comb and comb it off every night It should flake off . But combing it twice a day will help alot. You can put baby oil on after. Do the same thing the next night and so on. It will be gone in no time.

when you wash the babys head at bath time, soap up the scalp and with a toothbrush or a soft bristled baby brush, brush the babys head. Use baby oil on the scalp also to keep it moist and brush it gently too. Your pediatrician can help you with tips and show you how to do it safely, or ask an older relative or neighbor or friend with kids. Personal experience helps and every baby is different and watch for allergies with oils you may use.

My neighbor suggests using aloe vera bought at GNC and use daily on face and scalp to help with skin problems and it can keep pimples and rashes away from the face too.

Rub baby oil into the scalp and leave it sit for 15 minutes or so to soften the scaly stuff and then try to comb it out and shampoo the hair. Do this for a few days and it should clear right up.

use the baby oil and a soft brush or one of the baby combs. A fine toothed one. You can put the baby oil on their head and massage it around and even rub your nails over it softly. It may take a few times to get it all out. I had to end up using a liquid dish soap to get the baby oil out of my childrens hair. It didnt hurt them or their hair and they all have great hair now.
