There's something called Acne-Free that could be found at wallgreens. It costs about $20 and people are very satisfied with it. I don't know if its as good as proactive, but its deffinitely cheaper!

Biore!!!! I won't use anything else, it really does work and me and my sister have tried literally everything. Nothing else works I swear.
Try this regimen:
Wash with Biore morning and night everday first off.
At night after cleansing with Biore:
Mon - Use a exfoliater like St. Ives Apricot scrub. This is a really gentle scrub that gets rid of dead skin cells on the surface and helps to reveal glowing, new skin.
Tues - Use a clay mask like one of Biore's acne fighting masks. They work really great and are really relaxing. They dig deep down into your pores and pull out all the guck and oil that you can't get from just washing. Right after and especially the next day you will see results that your skin is less oily and shiny.
and lastly,
Wed - After cleansing and before bed, put some hot hot hot water in the sink, a towel over your head and steam your face for about 5 min or so. This opens up your pores and acts as destresser.
Try this three times a week and don't forget - EVERYDAY morning and night wash with Biore! I use Biore acne fighting ice cleanser because I am prone to acne. However, because I have been using it for so long I don't get acne anymore! It's great!! Good luck!!

Hereb is my recipe for a Zit Zapper that actually works!
1cup of water
1 1/2 cups baking soda
1/2 cup toner
(makes about 40 applications)
METHOD:
Mix together in a clear jar ( You'll thank me later!)
Mix until ingredients form a paste ( if it doesnt after 3 mins, add more baking soda)
Smear on face (not like a mask, thin, hardly noticeable will work just fine)
leave on overnight.
In the morning, wash the paste off and your zits will have either gotten smaller, or have gone!
It worked for me!
Hope it works for you!!
TTFN TATA FOR NOW!!!

hi. i used to have pimples too. this is what worked for me:
1. wash your face with a mild facial wash.
2. use a good toner, but alcohol-free toner like nivea with sea minerals.
3. use a good moisturizer like ponds, or olay, whichever is appropriate for you. moisturizers prevent pores from producing more oil. thus less pimples!!!
4. apply an oil absorbing gel like neutrogena on the pimple. or apply proactive on the zits.
5. don't go to sleep without washing, toning, and moisturizing your face.
drink lots of water!!!
good luck!!!

Try Neutrogena Acne Wash, Astringent, moisturizer and some time. You won't be able to buy time, but you can buy the products I just named and they'll work. I've been using the same thing for about 6 years and have healthy skin.

Use a face-cleaning lotion before work/school and before bed. Also, just splash water on your face when you sweat, because sweat can cause pimples. However if you wash your face to often it can irritate skin and pores.

Wash your face when you wake up and then throughout the day check to see if your face feels greasy at all. If it doesn't then wash your face again before you go to sleep at night.

I used Murad a while back and it worked well for breakouts.
Its similar to Pro Active but a slightly different formula. And for me it didn't burn as much.
But it was too much for regular maintenance. After about a month I witched to something else in between breakouts.
