I had to destroy all my old files and restart my computer a month ago. Since then, whenever I had to install software that required me to be connected to the internet, my computer says it's not connected to the internet. I can't watch videos on the internet cuz WMV say there's not a connection to the internet. Have anyone been through this? What do I have to do to connect my computer to the internet?.

A little more info would be nice, but go into your computers control panel and check your connections. Your PC should tell you exactly what's connected and what isn't. You may need to enter information from your service provider (such as a password and user ID) so your computer gets registered as having service, or you may need to tell your computer that it actually is connected.

First check to make sure the cables are connected properly then make sure the modem is on if you are still having probs go into the start menu and click run make sure the highlighted bar says cmd then click ok a black screen should pop up then type
ipconfig /release then hit enter wait for the numbers to show up (should be zero's)
then type
ipconfig /renew hit enter wait for numbers to show up (these won't be zero's) close the black window and try your net again if you still have probs call your internet company

Hi there

First of all, are you using dial up or broadband. If you're using dial up, check that your dial up connection that you are using is selected and the settings are correct. Also check to see if your modem is correctly set up and connected. If you're using broadband, the same could apply, your modem might not be set up or connected properly. Also check if there is a problem with your line, seek assistance from your internet service provider.

If you are paying a provider for dial up / DSL / Cable, call them and inform them of the problem. They should talk you thru settings etc. to get you online.
They can not expect you to pay them for something they aren't giving you. If they can not fix the problem, they will stop charging you per month.

I would answer your question but because you aren't connected to the internet you couldn't read it anyway.
