stretching is definitely the key, but if u want quicker and better results, stretch and then immediately after cool down and either give yourself a massage of the muscles u worked on or have someone else massage them for you. the massage helps to reset your muscles so that u can get back to stretching/exercising sooner with a reduced chance of injury. drink lots of water to encourage the muscles to be more fluid and to cleanse your body of all the built up toxins. lastly when you stretch remember to breathe, it intensifies the stretch. i work on a lot of athletes trust me it works. definitely do not stretch balistically, in other words don't stretch as if you are in a rush to get it over with by doing reps extremely quick. the best way to stretch and get better results is to do them slowly. hope this helps.

You shouldn't feel any pain while stretching, but hold just still painless position for at least 30 secs.
repeat set of exercises you want to do at least once every day.

Stretch - regularly and often. And that doesn't mean 2-3 x per week. We are talking 2-3x / day. It sucks - but it is the best way.

strech regularly everyday. all it will take is 5-10 minutes. hold each stretch for about 30 counts. do the butterfly stretch, pike with pointed and flexed toes, stradle (to the right, left, adn center), and splits (right, left, and center). remember not to bounce when you stretch, you can hurt or injure something.
