Best advice is to call your local steel scrapyards. They will usually be glad to sell you used steel beams cut to length because they get more for them than if they sold them to a steel plant for recycling. You can find your local scrap yards in your local Yellow Pages under "scrap yards" or "metal recyclers" etc..

If you dont find any container bases are good for bridges,you can get them 40ft long.
