Do you think preacher's kids are mean? Do you know any? How are they behaved?

Am I a bad preacher if my kids are not perfect~ just kids?

I have known many. I am related to many. I don't think they are mean....I think the devil gives the a worse time then other because he knows he has to work hard because the seed in so deep in them. That is what I think. I mean look at Billy G son...We all have ups and downs. I just think the devil gives them a hard time. I need to go to bed. I am not making sences am I ....

I've known Preacher's kids to be good and bad. I also know it's hard to be a preacher's kid because you are under the microscope of public scurnity at all times. The only mean preacher kids I have ever known are the ones who are not allowed to associate with the outside world. They can only associate with people within the church. Which I've never understood that at all. Kids that go to church with their families all the time are not always these perfect little people. One of my good friends rebelled, he drank beer and did stupid things but I think it was to get his father's attention. Preachers don't spend a lot of time with their families because they are taking care of the needs of the people at the church. It's not an easy job answering the call of God and then raising a family. Kids get jealous when they don't get their dads attention. But I think you find that these kids come around. No kid is perfect, never going to happen. I ask myself the same question, am I bad because my kid did this or that and I did not raise them to be that way. Kids are going to push your buttons that is what they do. Not all kids are bad, sometime they just don't think and do stupid stuff and hopefully learn from it and move on. But when you are a preacher's kid people get all upset. Why? They go through peer pressure just like all kids and they are under pressure to be goodie goodie, and when they fall everyone gets upset. Preacher's go through the same ups and downs with their kids as everyone, we can only hope we train them to do what is right and to use good judgement.

Short answer. Yes I have known a LOT of preacher's kids. They come in all varieties, and in adolescence, act out in a number of ways. No, preacher's kids are not particularly mean. Every young person is an individual, facing their own unigue challenges, through their own perspectives. If your children are not perfect-just kids, that does not make you a bad preacher, nor a bad mother, nor a bad person.

Not all of them are mean. I have had little contact with my pastor's kids so I honestly can't comment on their behavior. They seem ok though. No you're not a bad preacher if your kids aren't perfect. No one's kids are perfect. Kids will always be kids which means they will rebel and get into trouble from time to time. Just remember, if you bring a child up in the way he should go when he's old he will not depart from it.

I was a preachers kid and I know from experience that nobody is perfect especially PK's.

No you are not a bad preacher if they misbehave its harder I know because everyone expects them to live up to a certain standard and you can't get much privecy with church members calling especially if you live next to the church then the people are always coming and going needing the keys or mowing the lawn or walking around.

I know a lot of P.K.'s (preacher's kids) because I was a D.K. (Deacon's kid) and the ones I know were hellraisers. One went as far as getting on drugs and robbing his father outside of his house. I am not saying that will happen to you, and God forbid that it does. But being a preacher's kid puts a lot of pressure on a person. And you not a bad preacher because your kids aren't perfect. You would be a bad preacher and worse, a bad parent if you expected them to be.

As much as the church would like us to believe it is all about love - It is really all about maintain a pious image. There is tremendous pressure on the preacher to have perfect kids. So there is a large portion of the congregation that is just waiting to feel superior to your child rearing skills. This is unfair to you and your children. I have know some that rebelled badly against the strict upbringing and others that followed like lemmings.

My hubby is a a PK --and boy was he a wild one in high school!!!! He was involved in everything he shouldn't have been --but you know what?? When he decided to settle down, he chose a "good" christian girl to marry (me) and he is now-- 20 years later--preaching the word as well!!! I think - personally- the Devil preys upon PK's because of the calling that God has on their lives and the fact that they were raised in church and he KNOWS that the word in the Bible tells us that If we train up a child in the Lord, that he will not depart from it! He knows they are covered by the Blood and he tries to devour them. Pray a hedge of protection around them daily and they should be fine --no matter how rotten they are!!!!!

No, the Preacher's kids are not mean. They are wonderful kids and just plain Normal. I used to sing with our Minister's son. His name was Steven and we sang so good together. We were even on our city's radio station. We sang , " Jesus Loves Me ".

No, kids will be kids. My mom has always told me that when she was growing up the church kids were the worst. She said those would be the ones you would think to be good but no.
