I remember reading the book "Hatchet" by Gary Paulsen. In the book, the main character, Brian, was stranded in the wilderness with no human contact for most of the summer. He seemed to get along fine, being able to find ways to survive off the land using his hatchet and other tools he made with what little he had. Although it is very unlikely that anyone would have no human contact, it is true that some are more resourceful than others and would be better able to survive without human contact and little supplies. Although it might get very lonely, it's possible.

Human being have been designed or hard wired if you will, to be social beings. However some people have lived as hermits or other enclaved individuals shunning human contact for one reason or another, and have lived long and presumably happy lives. Failure to thrive syndrome is the description of what happens to infants who are not emotionally and physically stimulated(loved and held). So i guess it means that some if they choose to avoid others can survive quite well, but as new humans we die without it.

I would think that it would be up to each individual.

Some people prefer to be alone, but if alone for a long period of time, being isolated without any sort of human contact might cause a person to go mildly or moderately insane.

I'm not sure though, it's just a personal thought.

hope I helped some though!

We, humans are very social by nature.
We crave for companionship, yearn for it in fact.
Though not for all individuals, some are comfortable being self-reliant & independent.
Some people are needy & clingy so it's different & varied to each person.
Like some are just "wallflowers" and then there are those who are "social butterflies" that LIVE to be the center of attention.

I would learn to study everything and keep notes of how I lived and the things I found in my life. I am sure I would die young because of lonelyness or maybe because of a tooth infection or somethind simple because there would be no one that knew how to repair my body.

Life would not be that good. I would make friends with the animals and try to love my lonely life.

It's quite possible that the person would eventually forget how to talk and go crazy.

Why do they isolate prisoners? Solitude, to extremes, can cause a person to go crazy.
