I already know staying out of the sun is the #1 reason...but i use sunblock with atleast spf 30 and i still get a tan

Your SPF is still too low. Please try at least a spf50. DO not forget to reapply. If you can get your hands on Japanese sunblocks from companies like Shiseido, I think they work the best.

you can't prevent a suntan. but you can lessen the tan by using spf 50's or higher, like coppertone or banana boat.

Try a different type of coverage! How about keeping your skin unexposed with light weight coverage from clothing and hats? Works for people in desert regions!

You can get as high as spf 60.

stay away from the sun. run to the nearest possible shade as possible. and wear long pants and jacket when your out.

Use a sunscreen that have UVA and UVB protection. I think most only have UVA, so read the bottle.
