The Executive Branch was able to get all the power over the Legislative and Judiciary because the Constituition provides that the President appoints the Justices of the Supreme Court. Likewise, the leaders in the Senate and Congress are practically handpicked by the President. Thus, the Executive Branch have considerable influence over the other branches of government.

yet another homework question! and yet more excuses for people to trash the current president. ACTUAL historical evidence would be President Roosevelt -- both of them, but especially FDR. The Supreme Court, remember, tried to overturn much of the New Deal as unconstitutional and excessive intervention by the executive branch (which can't make laws).
What's the danger? Higher taxes and increased government control. What's wrong with government control? Just imagine every company being run like the DMV. And remember, Jimmy Carter said, "A government big enough to give you everything you want is powerful enoughful to take it all away."

Don't be concerned only with the executive branch, the entire government is grossly bloated. Over 20 million people work for the government, and the average annual salary of a federal employee is around $100,000. Government spending accounts for roughly a third of our GDP. The best thing the next president could do is to cut the federal budget in half; that would be a good start.

During this administration in particular, he has been usurping the powers of the Congress and the US Supreme Court! These are the checks and balances on men who would become King or Dictator!

Bush signed 803 signing slips saying laws were unconstitutional, and he didn't have to go by them! Either he vetoes them or he goes by them! No one made George Bush the US Supreme Court!
