I hate when couples say "we're pregnant" . NO the woman is pregnant- the daddy gets to watch. What do you think?

I dislike it as well. I know my mother-in-law kept on saying I'm so happy you guys are pregnant. I wanted to scream. NO, he is not pregnant. HE doesn't throw up every morning. HIS penis doesn't produce more liquid then ever. HE can eat whatever he wants--and know he won't throw it up later. HE doesn't feel tired every morning when he wakes up. HIS back doesn't hurt. HE is not lugging an extra twenty pounds around! I never did but it got on my last nerve. The woman is pregnant. The woman has the pregnancy issues. I felt almost like she was belittling me just by saying we were both pregnant.

Sorry--went into a rant. I don't get along with my mother-in-law very well!

It should be "We are going to have a baby." NOT--"We are pregnant."

I've really enjoyed reading these responses! I always have to stop myself from rolling my eyes when I hear, "We're pregnant!" It sounds so much better to say, "We're having a baby." The man is definitely NOT pregnant!!! I know it's just trying to be nice to the man but I kind of think it takes away from what the woman has to go through...

Annoying yes but why should I be bothered by a happy couple over joyed at the though of becoming parents. It's a sign the father will be in for the long haul.

I think that sounds pretty jealous and judgemental. Although I don't say "we're pregnant" about my husband and I, it doesn't bother me at all when others do. As long as the man is there for his partner every step of the way and sees his child come into this world, he's pregnant right along with his wife.

no, i think its great. when a couple say we're pregnant it means they are excited and happy.
true the woman is the one who is pregnant but the father is a part of that child too which is why they say we're pregnant instead of i am pregnant to so and so's baby.
i think it's sad when a woman finds out she is pregnant and doesn't have the comfort of the childs father beside her.
when i was pregnant i was like i'm pregnant and my fiance would say "no we are pregnant" and if u think about it it's true.

I can totally agree its annoying. When I was pregnant with my son I thought it was nice until I relised I was the one getting bigger and going through a emotional rollercoaster.I now have a son and a daughter and my 3rd and last on the way.I dont even think like that anymore. He may have to put up with my crankyness but, I sure have to deal with alot more.I'm pregnant , work full time, and raise 2 kids , along with cooking, cleaning, etc.

We announce that "we" are pregnant. We like it that way. It give the man more then just knocking someone up. He can feel part of it. He has to go through a lot too.

I agree with you on that one. She will carry the baby for 9 months and will have to take care of it every 2 hours for feeding, taking the child to school etc. Daddy's little fishing just went swimming and got her pregnant.

I disagree. The guy helped get the female pregnant, so its his baby too. Also guys experience sympathy pains as well, plus they have to put up with our moodiness and my husband is always there for me giving me back rubs and taking care of me. So I think he has just as much right.

ha ha. that is funny. In my case, though, my husband suffered just as much as I did. I agree that the woman carries the child, but there is a lot more burden put on a man than just watching.
