It really depends on what level you are at. An editor of a local paper would make far less than an editor on a regional title.
I can give you info from the UK - An editor of a small local newspaper would be earning the equivilent of US$55-65,000 per year, a sub-editor or layout designer would be on about US$ 40,000 per year. I hope this information helps in some small way.
