I talk about my dog ripping out guts. (i kid, of course, but only because her name is Zombie.) "eww, that guy got his guts ripped out!" while watching a movie. Saying someone has guts(like as in brave...and also if they have a 'gut' as in an oversized belly.). "My gut hurts"... um, yeah, I guess I use that word a lot more than that even...

I usually only say it as "gut reaction" when I have a feeling about something, but I'm not sure I'm right. It's not a word I use a lot.

Yes, but only if we hate your guts or if you have a gut. Other than that, we never say it.

Yup..."gut a deer"..."he took a bullet to the gut" ...and "they gutted the interior of the house to remodel". Why? Is there some absurd rule of etiquette forbidding us from using the word...or is it that you feel that most males only use it? Us tom-girls probably use it a lot...lol...

I sometimes say, "Oh, man that took guts!!" When i see someone do something really brave; like save a life!! That slang phrase usually means courage or bravery!!!
