The really great story-tellers are lost in time I am so sorry to say. Some of the things that I have read about these old storytellers, is that they could keep you mesmerizes for days. They were the true keepers of mythology and folklore. We have nothing that can compare to the old time story-tellers. They came from all kind of different background's but they are the saviors of our current story- tellers of to-day.....................

My grandfather, Horace Early Ballew of Inman S.C. told .how his uncle lost his leg to a yankee bullet.and ruined his life, with a tear in his eye. the time a mt lion attacked his horse. how his father went out. to collect deserters during the war, when they went home to bring in the crops. story after story, I sure loved my grandfathers storys.he gave lot of his crops away during the great depression.after that. anonymous gifts where laid at his door.at christmas time, till the last year he died.he was a story teller, and he was GREAT!
