Please help solve the equation.

keep the variables on one side an the numbers on the other.
p-15<20
taking 20 to the right hand side
p<20+15
p<35
p is less than 35

also keep in mind that the inequality changes when the sign changes on both sides

p - 15 < 20
(p - 15) + 15 < (20) + 15
p < 35
