every day, you wake up and go to work or school and you sit there and do pretty much the same thing. sure maybe its some new material and maybe a new person every now and then, but why? When you look at the world from a limitless perspective, whats stopping you from just going wherever and doing whatever you want? nothing. So why do we waste our time in the same place? some people are content, they only see what they think needs to be done and they do it, never stopping to ask why. others turn to religion. But how can you be 100% sure thats right? whatever religion you believe, theres always someone else who believes in something else more than you do, so how do you know youre believing the right thing? so maybe the purpose of life is purpose itself. Maybe we're just here to make our mark and leave, doing whatever it takes to get from day to day.
So i guess my question is, what is the purpose that you live for every day?

the purpose of life is to suffer the imperfect fulfillment of finite life and then find and enjoy the infinite pleasure, the unquantifiable joy, the perfect fulfullment of the heart - the infinite perfect, hidden in the finite imperfect
i have
[not by any merit of mine]
the purpose of life is to pursue your maximal happiness [peace, pleasure, enjoyment] every second, with great dedication and commitment - this is excitement, meaning, fulfillment, sanity, clarity, love - everything
[and that does not mean merely subjecting yourself to an endless string of delights and pleasures, but first of finding out, feeling out what you are, what exactly satisfies, fulfills you, what your truest deepest hunger is]

Well....I really can't see a purpose. And I have made it my goal to find one. My biggest fear is that people are no more than flesh, neurotransmitters, and cells...
I do not know about the spiritual. I grew up in a Christian church, hating it as soon as I knew where I was. I acted out and after a certain point refused to go. I cannot see the sense in practically any religion, but at the same time I can't claim atheism because the idea that we are here for the purpose of nothing...just chance...depresses me more than it liberates me.

I'm constantly changing....
one day I'll settle...hopefully soon...it's what I've wanted for years and years now...
but my life is everchanging, and nothing really ties me down.
I move 3-5 times a year.
basically...I'm a gypsy of sorts...
The purpose I live for every day? To find love before I die. Since I've found that love, and I know how I'm going to die, I'm basically spending the rest of my life settling into a life I've waited for for 24 yrs for the remainder of it.
I am brought to a fork in the road...at this fork...I can live a long and unhappy existance, or settle and live for a short time longer, but be happy and loved and do everything I want to before I die.
I am choosing the early death scenario cuz the possibility is always out there that it's just fate testing me and seeing what I'll choose...who knows, right?!
To get from day to day..right now I'm waiting, but within a week or two, I won't be waiting any longer ^_^

When the running about in the outside is over, then a person attempts to turn inwards, and then the "limitless perspective" that you mentioned, open up !
Though it is not very essential to go through all the running about!
The upbringing, culture , etc is to ensure a parallel inner growth, what ever we pursue on the outside, so that wisdom prevails with lesser effort, taking hints from experience of others.
The purpose unfolds by itself with deepening of the perspective, or level of perception (beyond sense organs)!

I think the purpose of life is whatever you want it to be. The things we live for are the things that we are passionate about, the things that we love. It's different personalities, different talents, different lives that affect what we feel is the reason for living. Personally, the purpose of my life is to become a neurosurgeon. I believe that I was put on this earth to save lives. Science is my passion, and I want to help people and help society. That's just me, though.

I think the purpose of life is finding happiness.
Some people think they can find it by their religion, others by self pleasuring, or to get rich, or help others... it is different for every one, and what can be happiness for one, doesn't have to be for other.
When you are happy with the life you have, you will have found it's purpose.

When I asked my guardian angel in a dream I had, he told me it was...the alarm went off. I think that means the purpose of life is to live it.
