Attitudes, chosen battles, topics, life styles, priorities are forever changing. What happened yesterday is not important or relevant today. Now it's the tags of Feminism, 10+ yrs ago, there was lots of talk under the tag of "Male Chauvenistic Pig" used primarily to vent anger toward men by women.

Do a little study of history to find what phraseologies were used then to describe issues of that day. Feminism & Chauvenism are passing verbage that will eventually progress or regress into another rendition of the words.

I have seen firsthand inequalities toward both sexes and promotions of both sexes - in the workplace, politics, the home, sports, entertainment, and on & on. I've seen women get paid less for doing the same work; I've seen men getting promoted over women. I've also seen men get laid off because they reached a specific age, I've seen outsourcing of men-held jobs for the profitability of a company.

Men and Women are different in ways beyond the physical. They both have skills to contribute, and areas that they don't; but it still falls with the individual. Women are more emotion-based in their decision making; trying to be equitable and fair in their dealings; more focused on the now. Men are more distant, and make the type of decisions that can sometimes set aside the human factor, yet can prove beneficial in the long run.

Feminism is not a "disease" any more than chauvenism, although chauvenism is more of a slap against men than feminism is an insult to women. These are just trends and they will faze out or merge with some other factors.

Regarding childrearing. One of the parents need to raise the children; not strangers. Either parent is fine. The parent that earns the most can go to work and the other parent stay home and raise the kids. But one parent needs to be there because the kids grow so fast, face problems, need that closeness & bonding with their parents. No one can love a kid more than their own parents.

YIKES, this is scary. Do you really think men only work to care for the 1 or two children that a woman pops out. Maybe adults work because they can equally bring in money to have a decent life so that their own children won't have to work so hard. I can not believe that you can put a comparison between working and a woman having children in the same sentence.

Assuming that you really meant to be since I will answer the Main question. I believe that feminism is dying out. Children of baby boomers (that burned there bras in the 60's) are not that extreme. We believe in family but fairness. I like to think of myself as a conservative feminist. I believe in most thing feminist but believe that June Cleaver had it made. Many people my age are in the same boat.

I was going to say what Aztec said, but he is more eloquent. I think the "in thing" for American women today is status and not by working for it. Here I go being judgmental again, but I believe they like to be a "trophy" wife, big house, cleaning lady, not working, going to the gym, kids in private school, hanging with the "girls" in the neighborhood or club showing off how "special" they are. I know, I'm just an old sour puss. But I did work in EEO in the '70 and learned a lot from our Federal Women's Program--some good points, but I think I learned to be hostile toward men.

Answer to your first question: God I hope so.
Answer to question about men being known as chauvinists: I really hope this one is changing and that young men are not buying into past generations of thinking that the man is the king of all he surveys.
Answer to the rest of your questions: Men need women...women need men. How about just accepting that we are all from the same race...the human race.

The feminist doctrine of the 1960's and 70's is going extinct. Most of the ideology on the left-side of American politics is so utopian in its premise that failure is guaranteed.

Yes, feminism is spreading as more men and women liberate themselves from outdated stereotypes that kept both of them in a box.
