Scientific studies show men average 3-5 IQ points higher than women.

Scientific studies correlate Brain size to IQ by 0.6+, and men have significantly larger brains on average (However, brain size also correlates to body size, so a small woman is likely to have a smaller brain).

Studies show men do better on tests of spacial intelligence.

Studies show women do better on tests of verbal intelligence.

Studies show women do better than men in school.

Men achieve more in a material manner than women do.

You be the judge. It looks like a pretty close race if you ask me.

In my humble opinion, men and women are not equal. Men are magnificent, monsterous and maleficent, yet creative and curiously genius, unorganized, easy going and non verbal.

Women are electric, effective and efficient. They are organized, bold and beautiful, perfectionistic and materialistic, instinctive and emotionally verbal.

In the end both men and women have traits necessary for the survival and advancement of the human race. There is no better sex in a general sense. They both have desired attributes; it's up to whomever has them to utilize them to the best of their ability.

Scientifically, on average men have heavier brains that women, and yes this does relate to intelligence. See Gray's Anatomy.

It's also a well-known fact that (on average) men have better spatial awareness. In practical terms, that means map-reading, driving, sport, hunting, and so on.

Women almost always do better at school than men. This is hardly surprising as, even if it is true that the average man has more natural intelligence than the average woman, most boys at school spend more time trying to impress the girls, trying to be hard and cool and popular, while girls just get on with their work.

EDIT: I guess I'd better back it up as some bitter fool is going on a thumbs down rampage for no apparent reason...

"The average weight of the brain in the adult male is 49 1/2 oz., ...that of the female 44 oz... The size of the brain appears to bear a general relation to the intellectual capacity of the individual. Cuvier's brain weighed rather more than 64 1/2 oz., that of the late Dr. Abercrombie 63 oz., and that of Dupuytren 62 1/2 oz. On the other hand, the brain of an idiot seldom weighs more than 23 oz.", Gray's Anatomy, page 451.

You would have to assemble a scientific team 50/50 men and women before you could even work out how to assess the brains. All men would give more points to male mental attributes and I think an all women team would do the same. The fact is that in all walks of life we give more importance to our own attributes while reducing the importance of attributes we don't possess so a truly accurate assessment would be practically impossible. As a bloke I know that multitasking at work is easy but domestically damn near impossible - perhaps because at work we are showing off at all times but at home it just needs to be done - no pat on the back, no promotion swinging on it. Actually women are better at multitasking as they are better at organising themselves - a bloke with a reputation as a good organiser is almost invariably good at organising others, not himself!

The answer given below where the guy says " Women are dumber 'cause they have to stay home and look after the kids and the kids dumbness transfers to the woman...blah...blah blah"
is joking I am sure, but, womens IQ does drop measureably when they have children.
Who cares who's brain works best really though, there are plenty of bright people who are horrible (margaret thatcher, mozart, most C.E.O's, robert maxwell and not to mention Simon Cowell).

Whales have bigger brains than us, but they have the proportionate intelligence of a cow. So, intelligence or having a better brain cannot be predicted by brain size or weight, but rather by brain-body proportion. Men are generally bigger than women, so, they are expected to have generally bigger brains, but not necessarily be more intelligent. The quality and number of connections between brain centers is more crucial in determining intelligence or mental strengths than brain size.

In general, men have bigger brains, but women use more of their brains at a given time, according to neuropsychological studies. In terms of senses, women tend to hear equally well in both ears, and see equally well with both eyes, while in men, one eye and ear can see or hear slightly worse than the other. In general, in terms of relative strengths, men tend to do well with spatial processing tasks. This is perhaps why men seem to do better in parking a car in confined spaces. Mathematically, men tend to have an advantage as well. Women tend to have an advantage in tasks requiring much processing between the left and right brain hemispheres, like in reading comprehension, and accurately telling the emotions on others (by body language and subtle facial cues). Of course, there are exceptions to these generalizations about men and women. And one sex's brain is not necessarily better than the other. To judge in this matter would show a very BIASED, sexist person.

In the long run it it depends upon your view of whats best.
There has been no mention of emotional strength yet, that comes from the brain. But I have no idea how you might test it.
I personally like the idea that women keep their marbles longer than men, scientifically proven.
But thats because men use their brains too much and burn out early, alllegedly

In some aspects men are good and in others women .
women are good in multitasking while men are not on the other hand Men are good managers but women are not.
And there are hundred of things which are good in one sex while not in the others but amazingly combination of both sex is required for a successful home.
There is very strong study that the kids with single parents don't do well in classes(I am stating single parent not single mother or single father.
There is one study suggest that the average I.Q of men are higher than women but again that test is not ideal specially it contains some mathematical questions in which women are weaker than men

"If you wish to converse with me, first define your terms". What on earth do you mean by "best"? What do you mean by "Brain wise"?
