assuming those lines are absolute values it would go as so

(6)-(2)+(4)
6-2+4
4+4 = 8

some of the above people are wrong because they put negative values for the result of an absolute value which is wrong.

The answer is eight.
The vertical lines indicate the absolute value of that number. Since the absolute value of a negative number is a positive number, the question translates to:
| -6 | - | -2 | + | 4 | or 6 - 2 + 4 equals 8.

|-6| - |-2| + |4|
6 - 2 + 4 = 8

PS

oh and to that boom shocka locka guy, you put -2 as the absolute value. You don't distribute the negative to -2 to make it +2 because the absolute value makes it a 2 so you're distributing the negative to 2 not -2.
