we went to war with iraq with the understanding and intel that there were WMD in the country. in the end was there no one knows. some say yes, some say no. sadam had buried full fighter jets in the desert that we found. who is to say that the weapons are not buried. some say it was for oil, but the last time i checked i was still getting raped at the gas station. as of, now we are trying to help a country that deserves the same things that we got so many years ago, that many in our country forgot about.

Educating yourself to the answers to difficult questions is a good thing. Asking them to know fact from fiction and to look up the answers is wise..
Iraq had been in control of and was producing Weapons of Mass Destruction, as known by every law abiding country on the face of the Planet. WMD's include, but are not limited to:
1. Nuclear Warheads and Associated devices
2. Biological Weapons (Anthrax)
3. Chemical Weapons. (Mustard Gas)
The United Nations voted an article through the Security Council for Iraq to rid it-self of those weapons. Mostly because Iraq had proved itself to be unreliable neighbor and hazardous to the World Organization.
UN Resolution 1551 was the final straw on Iraq coming into Compliance with the World.
By the way, the troops had found 100's of canisters of Mustard and Serin Gasses. If released could have easily killed all of New York City, Chicago and LA

The first answer you received shows the level of blatant stupidity in the US. Bush, Chaney, and Rumsfild have all publicly states that Iraq had no connection with the terrorist who struck the US on 9/11. We now know they had no WMD which were capable of being used against us. The did find a small stockpile of weapons (some 200 rounds) this past year, but they were so old they were not usable.
The reason we went into Iraq is that the Bush Government perceived that Iraq was a threat to the US, and concocted a lie to tell the world to support the invasion. This is part of the reason. The remaining reason, according to Keven Philips a Republican Strategist, is that Saddam was going to see his underdeveloped reserve of oil to China, and Bush decided to protect the interest of the oil company in the region by seizing the reserves first.

KUDOS, Steve B, and thank you for your service!!! Your answer has my vote for "Best"... and the most accurate source!!
Last I heard (same as before), Pres Bush felt that the "lesson" of Sept 11 was to pre-emptively remove terrorist threats... whether there were WMD's in Iraq or not... (still think they shoulda included women in that team, bugger what Islam says about women- Moms can find ANYTHING!)
I have a question- is anyone out there reporting/broadcasting the good stuff we're doing in Iraq?
How many homes and cities have running water/power b/c of guys like Steve?...
How many schools are back up and operating b/c of "our boys"?
What other humanitarian operations are being carried out by our military?

The Middle East and the Caspian Sea basin taken together contain 75% of the world's proven oil reserves. Much of the oil revenues in that region wind up in the pockets of dictators, terrorists, and their supporters. So every time we buy gasoline that comes from the Middle East, a small fraction of the sale goes toward terrorist training camps. The best solution to this problem is to promote democracy and the growth of the bourgeoisie in the Mideast.

1) To keep Iraqi oil of the market so that the price of a barrel of oil could be raised from $25 to $75, making a fortune for the oil barons.
2)To keep people terrorised in order to forward the New World Order agenda.
3)To protect the dollar, because Sadam Hussein was accounting for oil, in the 'oil-for-food' sanctions in Euros instead of dollars. This was the thin end of the wedge towards oil pricing being in Euros, which would mean the demise of the USA

After 9/11 it seemed like a good idea, we were lead to believe that there were weapons of "mass destruction:" But now after several years of fighting and hundreds of our solders dead and thousand of civilians murdered, we are no closer to finding those weapons then we were four years ago.

Borrow a crayon and write this down.
The Islamic Extremists won't stop until all Non-Muslims convert or are killed.
Sadaam would have given terrorists WMDs.
He did have them, as evidenced by using them on his own people.
